Jeffrey Avinash Barnes is considered a modern-day Renaissance man. He is an interfaith minister, musician, performer, and chef.
As a musician, he performs on percussion in many different projects playing all types of music, including jazz, rock and roll, folk, and kirtan. Jeffrey is a staff teacher at Omega Institute, where he leads drum circles and plays in a kirtan band. He frequently plays at Kripalu Institute in Lenox, Massachusetts, where he also plays kirtan. He was a featured performer on Fox Broadcasting on a music show where he played with the Fugees.
Jeffrey was executive chef/manager at Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD) Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Woodstock, New York, an all-vegetarian kitchen. He was ordained as an interfaith minister at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City after studying at The New Seminary. His belief is, “Love is all that matters.”
