Missy V. Bateson is a horticulturalist and artist with a bachelor’s of fine arts in industrial design from Pratt Institute in New York City. She has spent more than two decades working closely with plants and helping others reconnect to nature through creativity and care. Her approach brings together plant knowledge with the beauty of design and the stories people carry into the garden.
Missy is the founder of Brooklyn Planting, where she tends private gardens and teaches others how to work thoughtfully with plants. She offers workshops that explore botanical symbolism, seasonal awareness, and expressive floral craft. Based in the Hudson Valley, she continues to guide people of all ages in discovering the quiet intelligence and comfort that the natural world provides.
