Patrisia Gonzales is assistant professor in the Department of Mexican American Studies and an affiliated faculty member in American Indian Studies Programs and the Native American Research and Training Center at the University of Arizona. As the daughter of Kickapoo, Comanche, and Macehual peoples, Patrisia specializes in Indigenous ways of knowing and Indigenous medicine. She is author of Red Medicine: Traditional Indigenous Rites of Birthing and Healing, and The Mud People: Chronicles, Testimonios & Remembrances.
