Phillip T. Nails is a love child born at the base of Mt. Diablo in Northern California. He was first put in touch with the muse when some beat poets visited his high school. It was then that Nails decided he wanted to become a performance poet. Decades later, Nails continues in the lineage of the Beats and has studied with poets and performance artists Brett Bevell, Tim Miller, Mary Overlie, and Guillermo Gómez-Peña. It is in this vein that Nails explores poetry and performance.
As founding director of Typewriters Anonymous, Nails leads with analog as a core value, creating connection through the visceral experience of vintage manual typewriters and poetry.
