Join award-winning photographer and documentary filmmaker Jeanny Tsai in a transformative photography workshop exploring how to reveal divine essence through portraiture.

In this immersive workshop, you explore how to reveal divine essence when photographing another human being. Together, we reflect on what "divine essence" means to each of us, support one another through intentional photography sessions, and cocreate portraits that radiate with depth and luminous presence. This hands-on workshop includes outdoor and indoor photo shoots, group discussions, creative guidance, image selection and editing, and a final community slideshow. While basic DSLR knowledge is recommended, the focus is on creative exploration and concept rather than technical mastery.

All experience levels are welcome. 

• Camera: DSLR, mirrorless, or high-quality point-and-shoot camera. (You do not need professional equipment.)
• Tripod, if you would like to use one. Not mandatory.
  Camera cards with plenty of available space.
• Fully charged batteries and your charger.
• Card reader, if you use one to transfer images from your camera card to your laptop.
• Laptop with photo editing software, if you have it. If you don’t have editing software, there are free online options you can use during the workshop.
• A few props or personal objects with meaning to you that you might want to incorporate into your portraits
  3-5  photographs by photographers whose work you admire, Saved on your laptop as .JPGs. We’ll look at them together and talk about what draws you to the images.
• Comfortable clothing and shoes for both indoor and outdoor portrait sessions
• Weather-appropriate clothing for the outdoor portions of the workshop
• Notebook and pen, if you’d like to take notes
