Mark Thornton

Mark Thornton is the former vice president and chief operating officer for JPMorgan Private Bank in London. He is the world’s first executive meditation coach, author of Meditation in a New York Minute: Super Calm for the Super Busy, and a senior consultant with Mobius Executive Leadership, a premier consulting company that emphasizes personal transformation and organizational culture change. He is also a long-standing faculty leader with the Global Negotiation Insight Institute.

Over the past 25 years, Mark Thornton has learned insight traditions from a number of wisdom masters and applied these practices in every day business situations. He teaches these practices to clients such as the New York Times, Deloitte & Touche, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Harvard Negotiation Insight Initiative, and thought leaders from TIAA-CREF, JPMorgan, the United Nations, IBM, and various hedge funds. He has taught at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York City, appeared on more than 60 national and international radio shows, and has been the keynote speaker on wisdom practices at a number of financial industry events.

Thornton currently leverages his investment banking skills into environmental and health-related areas, including the successful arrangement of a multi-million dollar deal for a clean technology company in the United States. He also teaches meditation to students at Booker T. Washington school in Harlem and is the director of Project Bliss, which aims to enliven the human spirit to the power that lies within each one of us.
