Maya Azucena

Maya Azucena is an award-winning singer, activist, and cultural ambassador. At the 2010 United Nations Summit, she was selected by the Office of Secretary General Ban Ki Moon as the exclusive performer at the Every Woman, Every Child event. She is also a cofounder of the multimedia website MDGFive.com that raises awareness for maternal health.

In addition to touring with her band and collaborating with many living legends in the music world, Maya Azucena mentors teenagers and is a motivational speaker on artistic entrepreneurism and achieving one’s dreams.

Among her other acknowledgements, she also has been awarded a Grammy for her collaboration with Jamaican star, Stephen Marley; a proclamation from Congress for coproducing Hope Night, a concert for domestic-abuse awareness; and the prestigious "Top 40 Under 40" award from The Network Journal for her business acumen, community work, and work abroad.
