Peter McCarty is the author and illustrator of more than 15 picture books. His professional awards include the New York Times Best Illustrated Book for three different books and a Caldecott Honor award for Hondo and Fabian.
McCarty has been teaching at the School of Visual Arts in New York City for more than 20 years. His original illustrations have been exhibited in galleries across the United States. His energetic presentations and unique teaching methods have inspired students of all ages to tell their story.
