Shai Plonski, cofounder of Still Light Centre in Toronto, Canada, has authored or co-authored 14 manuals and books on the practice of Thai massage, and trained over 2,500 practitioners and 100 teachers worldwide in this healing art.
In 1997, Plonski embarked on a lifelong journey of exploring touch as a way to deepen one’s connection with spirit. He had his first exposure to Thai massage two years later while traveling in Thailand.
Upon returning to his native Quebec, Plonski began working closely with Kam Thye Chow, the founder of the Lotus Palm School in Montreal who pioneered a methodology that combines Thai massage with its yogic and Ayurvedic roots. Under his tutelege, Plonski began teaching Thai massage and developing curriculum for the school, including its teacher training program and advanced training courses.
Trained as a yoga teacher in the tradition of Dr. Madan Bali, Plonski’s teaching emphasizes fundamental principles of body mechanics that allow Thai yoga massage to develop into an intuitive form of bodywork. He brings a passionate and patient approach to his teaching, confident that anyone can excel at giving Thai massage and unlocking the secrets of universal compassionate touch.
