Dear Friends,
Together, we are charting new and uncertain territory. The extreme challenges presented by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) underscore the connection between personal and global well-being. It is an important reminder of our interdependence as a human family. I believe we have a shared responsibility to make careful choices, and an opportunity to stand together as a resilient community.
With this in mind, Omega will postpone opening our Rhinebeck, New York campus, originally scheduled for May 8, until May 29. While the majority of May programs will be canceled there are a few select programs being rescheduled for later this year. If you are registered for a May program you will be contacted by Omega this week.
Please be assured that we are following CDC and New York state guidelines and also are taking additional precautions. From cleaning facilities, to screening job candidates, to educating our staff, we are committed to putting safety and well-being first as we prepare for our 2020 season.
We understand the rapidly changing news and constant flood of information can be overwhelming; we want to remind you that we have a number of resources available to you online. Making space for self-care and personal practice like meditation, yoga, writing, and getting outdoors, cannot be underestimated during stressful times. Nor can the power of kindness, and compassion.
On behalf of everyone at Omega, I want to thank you for your understanding and patience as we manage this unprecedented time in our communities.
Let’s continue to hold each other in our hearts, and to make personal decisions that are mindful of each other’s well-being.
Sincerely,
Robert “Skip” Backus
