Aries (March 21-April 19)
Yours is the first sign of the Zodiac, and you love sparking revolutionary ideas as the pioneer of the zodiac. You thrive in the initial stages of any creative endeavor or at the start of a journey when the anticipation fuels your fire. This month, though, you’re learning to enjoy the follow-through, generate tenacity by believing in the fulfillment of your dreams.

With the sun moving through Virgo, the sign of the editor-in-chief, this is a favorable month for decluttering and managing life’s details. Focus on fine-tuning your current projects, especially writing, marketing, or communications.

Mercury stations retrograde on September 9, making communication one of the more significant themes. During Mercury retrograde cycles, skeletons come out of the closet, making it a time to listen with compassion and understanding. Our egos like to have their way sometimes, don't they? When we recognize how our default defenses originate from our early experiences of not feeling safe in the world, we can offer ourselves a little more grace when we have our guards up in relationships.

With warrior planet Mars in Gemini, it’s a good time to be vocal, give a speech, or enter a writing contest. In relationships, remember, it’s a skill to deliver truth with kindness.

On September 22, the sun enters Libra and casts you into the throes of love. With Mercury retrograde in Libra, there’s an emotional charge to this time of the year. It's easy to slip into a former relationship sometimes during Mercury retrograde. Be aware of how nostalgia tints our view with rose-colored lenses. Keep your feet firmly on the ground.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Virgo season is a time for daily rituals, and with that in mind, I have an exercise for you to try. Each day, take note of the moments of beauty that take your breath away. Taking this a step further, can you identify the beauty where it’s not obvious, like in those challenging situations in your life? Venus is moving through Libra from September 4 until October 3, making this a time when we can harmonize differences and balance polarity.

The sun shines in Virgo until September 22, helping you attend to some of the more logistical aspects of your life, like organizing your schedule, planning events, or decluttering a closet. Mercury is retrograde from September 9 to October 4. Be willing to distance yourself from projects that deplete you or relationships that feel unsupportive.

You're moving into a new chapter, but in the process, change can stir up grief because it involves letting go. Breathe through the discomfort. You can choose to aim your focus on the losses or to accept the call of adventure and focus on the next steps on your path.

Romance may have hints of a Shakespearean comedy this month with Mercury retrograde in Libra. We're bound to have some communication snafus or crossed wires. You might find your relationship in a pressure-cooker situation. When you're going through those awkward moments, remember that Shakespearean comedies often end in celebrations. (Shakespeare is a fellow Taurus.) Mercury retrograde cycles do, too. In the process, we get to navigate through the shadow aspects of our psyche, which isn’t a comfortable experience, but it brings healing and renewal.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Our warrior planet, Mars, has made itself at home in your sign, and it will stay there until March 2023. So, you have lots of time to think about what you are protecting and defending. What are you resisting and what are you moving toward? You might feel courageous and at the same time competitive. Use that energy to make a move, especially at the full moon on September 10.

Mercury is retrograde in Libra, making it a time when we're introspective, sifting through the suppressed past as it brings to light some dark places in our psyches. If you have had challenges communicating with your children, this can be a time to heal those relationships. It is also a time to problem-solve your creative projects and dating life.

One of the ongoing astrological themes of recent years has been the interplay of Saturn and Uranus. This month, their retrograde cycles bring them back into a close relationship that forces us to face decisions we have put on the back burner. The Saturn-Uranus square has highlighted your ancestry, leading to healing revelations and breakthroughs. You may have to revisit some unresolved conversations. Be willing to hear other perspectives and listen more than talk.

Practice tuning into body language in some of your more challenging relationships; listen with your heart. Notice when you start closing off. How can you relax your body to avoid entering into an ideological stalemate? How can you raise your awareness to not focus on the minutia of a debate but rather tune into the larger myth at play?

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

We enter a new season on September 23 when the sun enters Libra. Those cardinal ingresses are our points of action. They fire us up and turn our attention to what matters most. You've been clearing the road for new beginnings for quite some time. I have a message for you presented in the form of song lyrics by U2: “It's a beautiful day. Don't let it get away.”

Messenger planet Mercury goes retrograde on September 9, and it's easy to reminisce and glorify the past. But in doing so, we can sometimes miss the beauty of this present moment. Right now, be present with your loved ones, especially your family.
The sun shines in Virgo until September 22, making this a time to bring order to the messiest places in your life. If you've been holding some resentment toward someone, there’s no need to bottle up that pain and fear. If you've been overwhelmed with your schedule, make some edits. What can you reasonably cut out to give yourself more time for things you enjoy?

Relationships could feel like a comedy of errors this month with Mercury retrograde and Mars in the mischievous sign of Gemini. When others become argumentative, take a deep breath and remind yourself that this will pass. These are the times of the year when we harvest some of our more difficult memories to separate the wheat from the chaff. Mercury retrograde reminds us of the beauty of our evolution. We are not stagnant creatures. We are in a constant renewal process, and life gives us a chance to make things right.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

The Virgo sun shines on your finances this month. As Venus enters Virgo on September 4, you may feel more relaxed about spending. You could face financial turning points with the full moon on September 10, like the choice to renegotiate a business partnership or solidify a new client relationship.

Mars in Gemini motivates you to sign up for group sports or to pursue a leadership position in an organization. However, with messenger Mercury going retrograde from September 9-October 4, be mindful of taking on too much at a time.

You have an expanded vision for your life with Jupiter in Aries, although the growth may feel uncomfortable. Resist the urge to feed self-doubt, as deep down, it may be covering up your fear of change.

With Mercury and the outer planets going retrograde, slow down the pace when you can, and give  yourself time to reflect. Until October 4, you might feel more nostalgic. Communicate with clear and precise language, leaving nothing to the imagination. If you’re giving any talks or publishing, speak from your heart. Delayed or canceled travel plans are another possibility. A dedicated spiritual practice that centers you in the present moment can help you restore inner peace.

The equinox on September 22 is the balance of light and dark. At the end of the month, you might strive to find equilibrium in relationships. If you and your partner are juggling logistics and schedules, make time for romance. The new moon on September 25 indicates a turning point in how you communicate with others. Saturn in Aquarius asks you to be diligent in self-improvement, helping you reach new levels of acceptance.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Venus enters your sign on September 4, emphasizing relationships for the month ahead. Communication can be a challenge in all relationships, especially because we often don’t know how to express the subconscious aspects of ourselves that become activated in moments of frustration.

Mercury stations retrograde on September 9, and we’re all feeling more sensitive than usual. One of your sensitive spots might be finances with Mercury in Venus-ruled Libra. Notice when fear creeps in, or you feel an urge to tighten up and restrict yourself. Can you be open to the flow of goodness in your life? Can you allow yourself to experience joy? The new moon on September 25 invites you to let down your guard and trust. A subtle mindset shift can result in more meaningful life changes.

On September 10, the Pisces full moon shines a spotlight on your relationships and invites you to reflect on the growth of your partnership. If you are single, you might feel more open to letting someone into your life. It could be time to adjust your priorities, especially if you have come to associate love with service. If you are content in love, Venus in your sign suggests a dreamy, romantic start to the month.

Mars, the planet of motivation, moves through Gemini, motivating your career. As the sun enters Libra on September 22, you have a fresh perspective on how to complete projects and accomplish the bite-sized goals on your list. As Mars forms a trine aspect to Saturn on October 27, you can plant seeds of intention that will manifest over the next few years.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Take a deep breath and attune yourself to the element of air. Can you sense the invisible lines of communication flowing through the airwaves or Wi-Fi networks? As an air sign, you have a gift for communication. With Mercury retrograde in your sign from September 9-October 4, you're being asked to be more conscientious about what you say and how you say it.

Mercury retrograde can have interesting implications for relationships, especially when it's in your sign. Retrograde cycles engage us in past storylines of our lives. With Saturn in Aquarius, it can be tempting to dwell in a place of disappointment regarding our current love life dilemmas. One challenge we have as Libras is questioning the past and wondering what would have happened if we did things differently

Libra has a reputation for being indecisive. But this is far from true. You are always balancing your inner yearnings with the needs of the people in your life. Mercury retrograde brings all of this to the forefront, allowing us to understand those patterns. Plus, Mars in Gemini offers you the courage to be bold and follow your yearning, even if it doesn’t make the most sense.

The sun in Virgo means your birthday is approaching, and Libra season starts on September 22. With Mars moving through Gemini, you could have a gift with words and the courage to express them, especially in arguments. Take an extra breath before you speak, read the room, and know that it's always okay to say, I don't know. Use your authentic voice.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

I can spend hours at the beach watching waves ebb and flow. Picture it with me now. The further back the water recedes into the belly of the ocean, the fiercer the wave that crashes against the shore. Mercury goes retrograde on September 9, and this metaphor will make more sense at that time. You’re pulled by two different impulses—one, an internal need for introspection, and the other, a sense of group mind that operates by schedules and routines. The Pisces full moon on September 10 highlights the tension between the two.

With Venus in Virgo, social plans come together around volunteer projects or school activities. These connections inspire a burgeoning vision, but with several planets going retrograde, now’s the time for completion rather than innovation.

Warrior planet Mars is in communicative Gemini, emboldening your speech. Beware of miscommunication, though. The truth in any conversation lives in each person’s perspective. Some details can be overlooked or incorrectly translated. Trust your instincts if you feel a hint of insincerity from someone, but be patient in deciphering the whole story.

The sun enters Libra on September 22, and you walk the line between introversion and extroversion. The Libra new moon on September 25 feels nostalgic. You might look through old photos or visit your childhood home. At the end of the month, memory leads to a path of forgiveness and coming home to yourself.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Professional changes have marked turning points in your life this year, and you’ve learned the interconnection between your well-being and success. You’ve likely had to postpone some work projects to make space for personal connections. The full moon on September 10 shines a light on any unresolved tension between the disparate parts of your life. Let your keyword be integration, which means loving your shadow, honoring the part of yourself that wants freedom above connection, and being willing to see all facets of yourself. Freedom comes with acceptance.

The sun shines in Virgo until September 22, and it’s time for organization. You might need to declutter your life, especially after Mercury stations retrograde on September 9. On September 16, the sun opposes Neptune, stirring up nostalgic tears. You’re undergoing a healing process; let your feelings flow.

The sun moves into Libra on September 22, a relationship-oriented sign. What will it take to feel more satisfaction in your love life? In your friendships? These questions bring you into a deeper inquiry about what you’re attracting into your life. Change starts with recognizing what you’re willing to accept and deciding if you’ve set the bar high enough.

Mars moves through Gemini, and it motivates you to stand up for yourself in partnerships. You might renegotiate contracts or learn something new about a partner. We have six planets going retrograde this month, and we want to slow down the pace of life and reach out for guidance in these cycles of self-development.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

With the roller-coaster ride of the year you’ve had so far, perhaps you’re ready for a reprieve. You could get one this month as six planets go retrograde, including the ruler of your sign, Saturn. Retrograde cycles give us a chance to slow down the pace of life, reassess our decisions and priorities, and clean up life’s messy situations. Mercury stations retrograde on September 9, shining in a way that makes it impossible to go incognito. So, be impeccable with your word and triple-check everything you send out. We can’t be too careful at this time.

Professional goals may seem in flux as you revisit previous dreams that never quite came to fruition. Adding to that, you might need a break—a real vacation. If your schedule prohibits you from taking a long journey, consider even a short road trip around the time of the full moon on September 10.

The sun enters Libra on September 22 at the equinox, an action-oriented point in the year. Use this influence to motivate movement forward in your career, especially if you've been contemplating a change. The doors could swing open for you to step into a new role.

If plans change with dates or relationships, go with the flow. Any romantic disappointments could guide you to breakthroughs in your love life, especially at the new moon on September 25—a lunation filled with big emotions and relationship complexities thanks to Neptune and Pluto. We close the month with Venus moving into Libra, whose light helps clear some of the fog.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

If you had to sum up your adolescent years in one album or playlist, what would it be? I suggest playing music from your past a few times on repeat just like you used to when you’d hear a song you loved for the first time. With six planets going retrograde this month, including Saturn and Uranus, the two planets associated with your sign, you’re in a self-reflective state and maybe feeling dreamy about the past. The Pisces full moon on September 10 amplifies your emotions, allowing you to revisit relationships from the past. You may even rekindle an old flame or fall deeper in love with your current partner as you recall beautiful moments in your shared history.

Mercury goes retrograde from September 9-October 4, and it’s a time to consider learning something new. You are rewiring your beliefs, but it’s not a simple black-and-white process. Your mind is stretching open to consider possibilities you couldn’t see before. The Libra new moon on September 25 presents you with the courage to make a sudden change, thanks to its opposition to Jupiter. Remember to take your time.

The full moon on September 10 shines a spotlight on your finances, making this a time to ask for a raise or raise your rates. If any lingering financial fears crowd your mind, see what mindset shifts you can make to feel freer. Action steps may come to mind without effort from that peaceful state. Look into your beliefs around abundance, wealth, and security. Then, be willing to challenge those beliefs to open pathways to prosperity.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

As a Pisces, you have a gift for being in tune with others' emotions and energies, allowing you to be a natural counselor, artist, healer, and caring friend. While, at times, you may wish you could let things roll off your shoulders, your sensitivities are one of your superpowers as they invite you to bridge the spiritual and material. You know how to revel in magic. This month, as the sun shines in Virgo, you’re learning to be more present in the moment and attend to the practicalities of everyday life. How can your tasks become everyday rituals? Be your Pisces self in this Virgo time.

Relationships are a highlight for you until September 22, when the sun enters Libra at the equinox. How can you be autonomous and feel free without compromising intimacy and connection? Explore this theme at the end of the month. Mercury goes retrograde on September 9, helping you identify hopes and fears. You are finding ways to express yourself, despite the fear of disappointing others. Mercury joins five other planets going retrograde, making this a month to review past decisions.

Partnerships and committed relationships could shift for you around the time of the full moon on September 10. If you have been single for some time, you could have a new awareness of how to make yourself more available for love. If you are in a relationship, you could find new ways of connecting with your partner.

On September 16, as the sun opposes Neptune, observe your dreams and any signs or symbols you receive in your waking life. Attune yourself to your higher calling, and make time to connect spiritually.
