Amanda Pisetzner is an Emmy award-winning producer, Emmy-nominated writer, and documentary storyteller. She has worked on series and specials for Showtime, HBO, Tubi, NBC, the Discovery Channel, and others, both domestically and abroad. Through this work, she has spent thousands of hours interviewing people and discovering the narrative threads that connect us.

In 2024, Amanda founded Essential Storytelling, built on her conviction that every individual has unique and essential storytelling gifts and that narrative is fundamental to our shared humanity. Through her private practice she works with individuals and organizations to help people discover their inner storyteller and leverage the power of narrative to connect more authentically, preserve legacies, and create work that resonates.

As a storyteller herself, she remains endlessly curious about how story structure shapes meaning, where archetypes show up in our lives, and how "story thinking" can help us navigate the world. Whether writing, producing, performing, or sitting with someone at the end of life, the fundamental practice remains consistent: cultivating space for authentic expression and chronicling the uniquely human moments that help us all feel a little less lonely. At its heart, her work helps people use storytelling to unlock the world, cultivate wonder, and access the awe that allows us to truly celebrate and protect each other.
