Amy Ippoliti is an American yoga teacher, author, and advocate for human health and earth conservation. She has more than 30 years of yoga practice and has been teaching since 1997.
Amy discovered yoga at age 16 through her mother and continued studying in the Sivananda tradition during high school and college. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in studio art from Oberlin College, then taught fitness and self-defense classes in her 20s while working in an eco-boutique in Soho, New York City.
Her first teacher training was with Cyndi Lee in 1997. She became a certified Anusara Yoga teacher in 2000 after training with John Friend and continues studying Shri Vidya Tantra with scholar Douglas Brooks, whom she met in 1999.
Amy taught at studios such as OM Yoga, Laughing Lotus, and VIRAYOGA, and for fitness chains such as Equinox and Crunch. She served high-profile private clients, including executives and celebrities, and designed Anusara's 100-hour Immersion in 2002 before leaving the certification in 2012.
In 2012, she co-founded 90 Monkeys (now Vesselify School of Yoga), an online and in-person platform training teachers in more than 65 countries. She has led global workshops, retreats, and presented at events such as Wanderlust and at Omega Institute.
Amy co-authored The Art and Business of Teaching Yoga in 2016, a key resource for teacher trainings. She contributes to outlets such as Yoga Journal and Elephant Journal, with features in Newsweek and New York magazine.
