Bettina Shultz-Jobe

Bettina Shultz-Jobe, LPC, is cofounder and CEO of Natural Lifemanship and a leader in the field of Equine Assisted Services. For more than 20 years, she has partnered people and horses to bring about healing, growth, and transformation for horse and human alike.

A licensed professional counselor, Bettina is trained in expressive and experiential therapies, play therapy, neuro-biofeedback, the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Somatic Experiencing, somatic movement, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and was formerly Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) and Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA )certified, among many others. In 2004, she conducted a seminal study on the effects of equine-assisted psychotherapy on at-risk adolescents, and she has since contributed chapters to numerous books and curricula in the field.

In 2010, Bettina and her husband, Tim Jobe, founded the Natural Lifemanship Institute on the principles of connected relationships: with self, with others, with horses and other animals, with the Divine, and with our natural world. Together they developed NL’s Trauma Informed Equine Assisted Services (TI-EAS), now practiced by professionals around the world.

Bettina believes healing, growth, and transformation begin when people and horses form deep connections, free from power, domination, and control. She is passionate about discovering the horse’s full potential for helping humans and supporting others as they bring that relational practice into their own work.
