Patrick Surdam

Patrick Surdam is a musician, author, songwriter, and charanguista. He has been writing and performing music for more than 20 years. More recently, his musical focus has been studying the Charango, a small 10-stringed instrument of the lute family, widespread throughout the Andean regions.

Patrick is deeply devoted to his spiritual path, primarily rooted in Tibetan Buddhist meditation practice and Mestizo Peruvian shamanism. As part of this study and the influence of South American culture and its healing traditions, Patrick has delved into the resonances of the human voice and the exploration of its capacity for healing. With his partner and musical collaborator Maryn Azoff, he teaches the Vocal Transformation Method™, a program that explores psychological development through the chakra system using the power of voice and body.

The foundation of this work focuses on the ancient method of chanting seed sounds or bija mantras, powerful tools to activate channel-specific frequencies of sound vibrations in the body, heart, and mind that correspond with each of the seven main chakras that run along the spine from root to crown. His work is to share the colors of these diverse influences with the world in order to cultivate health, vitality, and inspiration.
