Tashi Chodron is a lay Buddhist practitioner and one of the first women of her generation in exile to receive the entire teachings of the Vajrayana path directly from HH Penor Rinpoche, including Ngondro-preliminary teachings, Tsalung, and Dzogchen, the pinnacle teachings of the Great Perfection.

Tashi is the assistant manager of Himalayan cultural programs and partnerships at Rubin Museum of Art where she leads the awakening practice "Morning Mindfulness Meditation" in the museum’s Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room. Tashi also leads the Awakening Wisdom Experience, a mindfulness meditation at the Y Wellness center, and an AWE weekly mindfulness meditation for Himalayan children virtually to help parents and children since the pandemic.

Tashi is the founder of voices of Tibet - Tibetan Oral History Project, founder of Himalayan Pantry Inc., and former consultant on Himalayan arts and culture at Baruch Rubin Project at Baruch College. She is a recipient of the Gold Star award from the American Himalayan Foundation for her preservation of Tibetan culture. She was a spokesperson for the Heifer Project, and is a current Board member of UN Women USA NY, and ACHA Himalayan Sisterhood: a community service for women’s empowerment and ending violence against women and children.
