Pen and ink landscape drawing by Joanne Case

Learn to see the world—beyond simply looking—and reconnect with your creative core in this drawing and writing practice with Joanne Case.

Reawaken your inborn natural artist with Joanne Case as she guides you to draw and write from the heart.

Discover renewed meaning, inner peace, and creative inspiration in this 5-day experiential retreat, focusing on creating a safe and calm oasis, away from the distractions of phones and responsibilities. In this grounded state, images and words flow more naturally onto the page, deepening your connection to yourself and the world. As we focus, we lose ourselves in the process, reconditioning our minds to let go of barriers to creativity.

Inspired by artist and writer Frederick Franck, Joanne Case guides us to explore his practice of "seeing/drawing" and writing, a powerful method that reveals what he called the “unspoiled core” of everyone. Mornings focus on drawing nature, still life, people, and landscapes. Afternoons shift to intuitive writing, inviting your heart—not your head—to lead the way.

Leave with the ability to practice a moving meditation of writing and drawing that frees you to create without judgment. Gain a deeper appreciation of and wonder at the natural world and a greater connection to one another. Realize that with creativity there is no competition, no hierarchy, just our own beautiful struggle to let go in a supportive and nourishing environment.

Whether you seek creative renewal or spiritual nourishment, this retreat offers a restorative, inspiring path to liberating the artist within.
