You don’t need a bigger platform to have an idea worth sharing. You need clarity about what you know, what you’ve lived, and what you are uniquely positioned to say.
In this highly interactive live and online 90-minute Teachers Studio, TEDx speaker, former TEDx executive producer and curator, and story architect Sonali Fiske guides you in uncovering the powerful idea hidden inside your lived experience, expertise, or body of work. She also shares how to shape it into a message that can resonate far beyond your personal story.
Through guided reflection questions, practical exercises, and behind-the-scenes insight from years of developing speakers and curating TEDx stages, you explore the difference between your story and your idea.
Sonali guides you in identifying the deeper question, tension, or insight at the heart of what you want to say and shares how to begin moving from “this happened to me” toward “this is what I now understand—and why it matters to all of us.” You:
- Identify the central idea within your experience or expertise
- Learn how personal stories become messages with broader relevance
- Explore what makes an idea distinctive, timely, and worth sharing now
- Begin articulating your core idea in clear, compelling language
- Learn the pitfalls to avoid and how to start pitching to a TEDx event
The final 15-20 minutes of this immersive experience are reserved for a live question-and-answer session. This also gives participants a chance to drop into the hot seat and receive some live coaching, should that arise.
No finished talk is required. Bring your curiosity, your lived experience, and the idea that keeps tugging at you.
Join Teachers Studio live on Wednesday, October 21, 7:00-8:30 p.m. ET (4:00-5:30 p.m. PT). For registered participants, this class will be available on demand until April 21, 2027.
