Immerse yourself in the restorative power of poetry and learn to meet your life with greater openness.

Acclaimed poet Holly Wren Spaulding shares three strategies for how to begin a piece of creative writing.

We find ourselves in a suffering world, experiencing personal and global crises, and yet, we all have the capacity for connection and joy. In this workshop, beloved teachers and acclaimed poets Nadia Colburn and Holly Wren Spaulding share tools to free your voice and meet your life with greater openness.

Together we immerse ourselves in the restorative power of poetry as we:

  • Enjoy close readings of poems by Joy Harjo, Audre Lorde, Mary Oliver, and others
  • Write from prompts paired with meditation and embodied practices
  • Connect mind and body as we create from a place of integration and insight
  • Find and develop our own creative voice and vision
  • Share and discuss our writing in a safe space

Enjoy the presence, consolation, and healing art of poetry. This workshop is appropriate for people with any level of writing experience. Return home with new poems and a revitalized sense of agency to incorporate into your personal practice or share with students and clients.
