Workshop

Little Flower Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Training

Aug 02 - Aug 09 2019 Rhinebeck, NY
Train to teach yoga and mindfulness to children with Jennifer Cohen Harper and other experts in the field.

In this intensive Yoga Alliance registered program, you learn to teach a holistic class to meet children’s unique physical, emotional, and social needs. Classes incorporate yoga and mindfulness activities that help youth—from preschool through high school—connect to themselves and their community; develop focus and concentration; find strength, balance, and confidence; recognize and regulate emotions; and learn to nurture themselves.

Explore the challenges of teaching in schools, studios, and community spaces. Gain information about how to set up new classes, navigate relationships with schools, manage challenging behavior, serve the needs of diverse populations, teach from a trauma-informed perspective, create an effective curriculum, and more. This weeklong immersion combines all three levels of the Little Flower Yoga certification program for a deeply empowering experience, rich with opportunities for your own personal practice.

This course includes access to 3 hours of webinar content pre-training and 10 hours of webinar content post-training, including a 6-hour course exploring sharing yoga and mindfulness with children with special needs taught by occupational therapist Allison Morgan.

More Information

$45 materials fee; include when you register. Training begins Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Completion of this training, additional web-based content, an online mentorship program (register separately through Little Flower Yoga), and required reading and writing, qualifies you for the Yoga Alliance registered children’s yoga teacher certification; see littlefloweryoga.com.

LFY is a Registered Children’s Yoga School, which means that completion of our training qualifies participants to register with Yoga Alliance as an RCYT, subject to additional YA requirements. Registration with Yoga Alliance is subject entirely to their policies, and requires having an additional 200 hour teacher training. We suggest reviewing their requirements directly as they may be subject to change. Those not interested in Yoga Alliance registration are still eligible for Little Flower Yoga Certification. Learn more in the above video, and be in touch any time if you have questions.

Please download and carefully review this letter from the faculty which includes: ways to prepare for and what to expect from the training; required and requested reading (also listed below); certification process; accessing support after training and other helpful information.
