Nisha Burton with a swirl of energy, illustrating a lucid dream

Explore lucid dreaming, altered states, and shadow work to deepen self-awareness and apply dreamtime wisdom to daily life with Norma and Nisha Burton.

Instead of sleepwalking through your dreamtime, learn how to experience it with purpose and lucidity, guided by Norma and Nisha Burton.

Explore the world of dreams and altered states of consciousness through psychonavigation, Norma and her daughter Nisha Burton's signature approach to dreamwork. Learn hands-on lucid dreaming techniques, track your progress through nightly reflections, and journey into the dreamtime with guided drumming and meditation.

Who Should Attend? All levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced dreamers and dreamworkers looking to deepen their practice. Foundational techniques and more advanced practices are covered. Anyone curious about consciousness, dreams, or shadow work finds an entry point. While not physically rigorous, this retreat does invite participants into emotionally meaningful territory, including nightmares and shadow material. Norma's background as a Jungian psychologist and hospice chaplain informs a compassionate, well-held container for this work.

What You Experience

This retreat moves through many modes of learning, mirroring the layered nature of dreamwork itself. Participants experience guided drumming journeys and meditations, then ground those experiences through writing and dream journaling, drawing and symbol work, and open group discussion to share and reflect on what surfaces.

Lectures throughout introduce the frameworks (psychonavigation, shadow work, lucid dreaming technique) before participants put them into practice through guided exercises, hands-on lucid dreaming assignments, and nightly experiments they carry into their own sleep. Learning happens experientially, and is then deepened through reflection, creative expression, and community.

You leave with a working toolkit for lucid dreaming you can use for the rest of your life—reality check habits, a dream journaling practice, and dream-sign awareness—and tools for shadow work, the ability to recognize and integrate patterns behind nightmares and sleep paralysis.
