Join celebrated singer/songwriter Jimmie Dale Gilmore to explore songwriting as a tool for self-exploration and social connection.
Whether you are a beginning or advanced songwriter, Jimmie Dale cultivates an environment of collaboration as a means to access insight, perspective, and motivation for your creativity.
Together, the group explores what it is that makes songs such an essential and potent part of human communication. In a supportive setting, everyone is encouraged to interact both as participant and observer in the creative process.
A small amount of time is given to discussion of the business aspect of songwriting.
All are welcome to attend. It is not a prerequisite to play an instrument or to sing.
Bring a guitar or small keyboard if you have one. If you would like to receive feedback, bring 30 printed copies of a song you have written. Also, to make the most of your songwriting class, we encourage each student to purchase a singing mask prior to coming to Omega. It will make the experience much more comfortable for you.
