Catherine Cook-Cottone

Catherine Cook-Cottone, PhD, is a licensed psychologist, registered yoga teacher, associate professor at SUNY Buffalo, and associate editor of Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention. She is also the founder of Yogis in Service, a nonprofit organization that creates access to yoga.

Her research specializes in embodied self-regulation (i.e., yoga, mindfulness, and self-care) and psychosocial disorders (e.g., eating disorders and trauma). She has written six books and more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Her most recent books are Mindfulness and Yoga for Self-Regulation: A Primer for Mental Health Professionals and Mindfulness and Yoga in Schools: A Guide for Teachers and Practitioners. Presenting nationally and internationally, Catherine Cook-Cottone uses her model of embodied self-regulation to structure discussions on empirical work and practical applications.
