David Dalton

David Dalton, a founding editor of Rolling Stone magazine, is a New York Times bestselling author, recipient of the Columbia School of Journalism Award, and winner of the Ralph J. Gleason Best Rock Book of the Year award for Faithfull. Dalton has written 24 books, including biographies of James Dean, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Sid Vicious, the Rolling Stones, and, in 2010, a critically acclaimed biography of Andy Warhol, Pop.

Between 1968 and 1971, David Dalton penned Rolling Stone cover stories on Little Richard, James Brown, and Elvis Presley. In 1969, Dalton collaborated with frequent Rolling Stone contributor Jonathan Cott on Get Back, a journal of the recording sessions of the Fab Four's final album, and the only book ever commissioned by the Beatles.
