Elizabeth Corwin

Elizabeth Corwin is a 12-year military officer and a former Navy F-18 pilot. She began teaching yoga to the military community while on deployment in 2008 aboard the U.S.S. Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, sharing her practice and experience with other pilots and friends. Since then she has continued traveling the world teaching yoga to numerous military communities, including redeploying sailors at the U.S. Navy’s Warrior Transition Program in Germany, Navy Special Forces alongside her mentor Ann Richardson Stevens, and Army Special Forces.

With experience with Adaptive Yoga and Yoga for Vets, as well as Military Resiliency Training, she is partnering with Gaiam and The Give Back Yoga Foundation to create Yoga for Military Warriors videos and has recently been featured as the cover yogi on Beryl Bender Birch’s book, Yoga for Warriors.

Her background includes studying Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore, India, with Saraswathi Jois; Power Yoga with Beryl Bender Birch; Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Seane Corn; and Adaptive Yoga with Ann Richardson Stevens. The intensity of these lineages is now the essence behind her fresh, challenging, and playful teaching style.
