Ellen Bass’s poetry has appeared in The New Yorker, The American Poetry Review, The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, The New Republic, Kenyon Review, Orion, Ploughshares, The Sun, and other journals and anthologies. She has received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, Pushcart Prizes, and various other recognitions. Her most recent book of poetry, Like a Beggar (Copper Canyon Press, 2014) has been called “nostalgic, vivid, and visceral.” She is a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
