Jerzy Gregorek

Jerzy and Aniela Gregorek, creators of The Happy Body Program, immigrated to the United States from Poland as political refugees during the Solidarity Movement. They are both World Weightlifting Champions and world record holders. In 2000 they founded UCLA’s weightlifting team and became its head coaches.

As creators of The Happy Body Program, they have been mentoring clients for more than 30 years, helping them attain elite physical fitness and practice healthy, anti-aging lifestyles. The Happy Body program has reached more than 30,000 practitioners throughout the world. Clients include numerous Silicon Valley luminaries including Naval Ravikant, CEO and cofounder of AngelList, and Tim Ferriss, best-selling author and speaker, who included the Gregoreks in his most recent best-seller, Tribe of Mentors.

They currently work with Dr. Michael P. Snyder, chair of genetics and director of genomics and personalized medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, and Dr. Michael McCullough, social entrepreneur and emergency room physician to the Dalai Lama.

Popularizing his personal motto, “Hard choices, easy life,” Jerzy emphasizes long-term practices that help create a pain-free existence at any stage of life, proving that strength-balanced fitness can erase many of the problems that come with aging.

Jerzy has addressed a variety of audiences on the topic of fitness and wellness, most recently at Google, Adobe, and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Jerzy and Aniela have written numerous books on fitness; they also both hold a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and have authored works of translation and poetry.
