As president and CEO of the Captain Planet Foundation, Leesa Carter-Jones leads the organization's mission of investing in high-quality, solution-based projects that inspire and teach youth to become collaborators and agents of change.

Captain Planet's mission is to give the next generation of environmental stewards an active understanding and love for the natural world in which they live.

Carter-Jones has overseen the creation of four new operating programs for both K-12 teachers and informal educators. She has been the visionary behind Project Hero, a web-based learning system that guides young people on a series of “quests” to help threatened plants and animals where they live.

Prior to Captain Planet, she served as executive director of U.S. Green Building Council-Georgia Chapter and worked in marketing and community relations for the organic grocery and natural products industries.
