Lorelei Chang is an innovative modern dancer from China whose nearly 50-year artistic journey bridges continents and cultures. She is known for integrating qigong, dance, Chinese calligraphy, and healing arts into unique works of embodied expression.
She performed during the closing ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Olympics held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, with her twin sister, Mai Nakanishi. Both are world-class artists who influenced combining Chinese calligraphy and modern dance with qigong, and have performed internationally in China, Japan, New Zealand, Belgium, and the United States.
Lorelei teaches qigong, yoga, and dance nationally and internationally, including in China and Japan. In 2012, she won a gold medal for the 24-form taijiquan and a silver medal for 42-form taijiquan during the International Wushu Competition in Connecticut. She is the founder and artistic director of dancEnlight, a faculty member with the Connecticut Concert Ballet, and a professional member of the National Qigong Association. A certified instructor of Radiant Lotus Women’s Qigong founded by Daisy Lee, Lorelei studies Five Element meridian shiatsu with Nini Melvin.
