Nityda Bhakti, a vinyasa and restorative yoga teacher of 10 years and licensed New York City-based psychotherapist, founded The Yoga Wellness Space with the mission of making yoga less intimidating and more accessible for others, regardless of background, ability, status, color, or size.
Bhakti inherited an interest in Eastern philosophy early on, which led her down the path of alternative healing. Having experienced her own separation from body, battling an eating disorder for years, Nityda began to dive more fully into her yoga practice in her early twenties. Passionate about the healing potentials of yoga to address body image and other mental health concerns such as trauma, anxiety, and depression, Nityda developed Yoga Heal®, where talk therapy meets asana practice.
Her current focus within her private yoga therapy practice is around supporting trauma survivors. Nityda Bhakti contributes regularly to Elephant Journal, Yoga Lunchbox, and The Active Times.
