Paul Cohen is the founder, owner, and publisher of Monkfish Book Publishing Company, LLC, and president/owner of Epigraph Publishing Service. Monkfish is a traditional small press specializing in spirituality and religion. Some of Monkfish’s better-known authors include Mirabai Starr, Rami Shapiro, Bernie Glassman, Ram Dass, Sarah Bowen, Tirzah Firestone, Cynthia Bourgeault, Stephen Levine, Elizabeth Cunningham, and Rupert Sheldrake. Epigraph is a publishing service devoted to innovative approaches to publishing for self-financing authors. Among the services provided are consultation, editorial, design, distribution, marketing, sales, and publicity.
Through Monkfish and Epigraph, Paul has published more than 400 books since 2002. Prior to starting his own company, Paul was a senior executive of sales and acquisitions, working for two distribution companies specializing in body/mind/spirit publishing. He served in that capacity for eight years and was responsible for both acquiring new distribution contracts and overseeing national and international sales and marketing. During that time, Paul acquired and negotiated more than 200 distribution contracts with leading spiritual book publishers and oversaw the release of more than 4,000 new titles, many by best-selling authors.
