Paul Sunday

Paul Sunday is a multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and long-time meditator. Initially trained in performance and dance, he became an internationally published fashion and celebrity photographer in the 90s.

After 2001, he closed his commercial studio and turned his attention to contemplative pursuits, including minimal painting, abstract photography, and Buddhist studies. He has studied with many Tibetan masters and scholars of Buddhist thought, including Kunsang Dechen Lingpa, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, Tenzin Wangyal, Robert Thurman, and Garchen Rinpoche.

Sunday has taught photography at Pratt Institute, International Center of Photography, SUNY New Paltz, and New York Film Academy. The New York Public Library, Mid-Manhattan, Pratt Institute, and HiLo Catskill have hosted solo shows of Sunday’s work, which includes photography, painting, and sculpture.
