Peter Buckland serves as the academic programs manager at Penn State’s Sustainability Institute and is an affiliate faculty in educational theory and policy.

Buckland works with faculty, departments, colleges, and the office of general education to integrate sustainability across the curriculum. With his intern, he curates The Field Guide to Teaching Sustainability.

He also works on special programs with campus and community partners from the Office of Physical Plant to the Palmer Museum of Art to local school districts to advance renewable energy, climate and ecological literacy, and the role of arts in civic life.

Buckland has communicated widely on sustainability, environmental issues, education, and music in popular and peer-reviewed press.

He has published in the International Journal of Ethics Education, the Journal of Educational Leadership, Policy, and PracticeReviews of the National Center for Science EducationInternational Journal of Illich StudiesSound Fabrics, and as a 2017 TEDxPSU speaker.
