Rolf Gates is a former social worker and United States Airborne Ranger who has practiced meditation for more than 25 years. Author of the acclaimed book on yogic philosophy, Meditations From the Mat: Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga, and Meditations on Intention + Being, Gates conducts 200/500-hour Vinyasa intensives, retreats, and 200/500-hour teacher trainings online, throughout the United States, and abroad.
Rolf Gates and his work have been featured in numerous magazines, including Origins, Yoga Journal, Natural Health, and People magazine. His studio is listed as one of Travel and Leisures' Top 25 Yoga Studios Around the World. Cofounder of the Yoga Meditation and Recovery Conference at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, and Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts.
