Sheila Ramsey, PhD, is the cofounder of Personal Leadership Seminars and founder of The Crestone Institute.

A 1982 awakening to the heartache of “is this really all there is?” prompted a dive into a search for answers from diverse perspectives including Hinduism, Zen-based Buddhism, non-dual awareness, esoteric Christianity, and the wisdom of the Enneagram. Her self-inquiry led to resultant shifts into a deep embodying of love, inspiration, and creativity. As she incorporated the essence of such perennial wisdom into her global leadership work, she felt revitalized but increasingly a pull to be of greater service and a continued longing to deepen her spiritual practice led her to close down a 30-year consulting business. She stepped immersed herself fully into a world of silence and stillness, to fulfil what she understands to be the most important work of her life—discovering the possibility of being fully human, fully awake, and serving the world.

Working with such clients as the UN Secretariat, the US State Department, Daimler Benz, and the Smithsonian Institution, she has guided leaders to recognize that leading others always begins with leading one’s self. She is a coauthor of Personal Leadership: Making a World of Difference and coaches leadership development worldwide.
