Shenphen Samdup is a monk and scholar of Bon Buddhism. He was raised at the Menri Bon Monastery in India, under the tutelage of H.H. the Menri Trizin. His area of expertise includes the practice of Dzogchen and Phowa, the transmission of consciousness at the moment of death.
“Sam” has been a visiting scholar at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York and at the Smithsonian Institute. He holds a doctorate in Tibetan religious studies. He currently lives in Bhutan, where he is the abbot of a Bon Monastery.
