Susan Fox Rogers

Susan Fox Rogers is a Hudson Valley regional nature expert, writer, teacher, editor, rock climber, and kayaker. Author of My Reach: A Hudson River Memoir, she writes about the natural world and her adventures in the outdoors.

She is drawn to beautiful places and in the last 10 years has traveled to the Antarctic, Tasmania, Canada, and the southwest of France; she’s hiked in Arizona; rock climbed in Nevada; birded Wyoming; and backpacked in Alaska.

She writes about these journeys in her blog. But most often she writes about her daily adventures near home in the Hudson Valley of New York. There she rock climbs at the Shawangunks, kayaks on the Hudson River, birds in many beautiful spots, hikes to the tops of mountains in the Catskills, and shares her passion for the natural beauty of the Hudson River Valley.
