Discover the science behind healthy balance and exercises to improve balance and prevent falls with Postural Retraining™ creator George Locker.

Watch as George Locker demonstrates some Postural Retraining™ balance exercises.

Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death, non-fatal injuries, and emergency room visits. George Locker, author of Falling is Not an Option and creator of Postural Retraining™, shares the science behind healthy balance and exercises to maintain or enhance your own healthy balance.

After decades practicing tai chi, George came to realize that the balance and stability principles of tai chi could be separated from the self-defense component. Instead, they can be used to create balance-specific exercises appropriate for anyone who can stand, take a step, and is prepared to challenge themselves.

During this weekend, he teaches a daily practice of 15 postures and practices and addresses questions such as:

  • Why is balance on a single leg more stable than balance on two legs?
  • How does a weighted stance relate to stability?
  • What is the difference between a regular step and a tai chi step?
