Person telling a story in a workshop

Everyone has a story worth telling. Learn to find, craft, and tell your personal stories with ease, depth, and authenticity

This workshop is part of Family Week at Omega.

Find the story you've always wanted to tell and grow your confidence in the process, guided by Christina Thyssen and Caitlin Langstaff.

Everyone has a story. When people share something real from their lives—joy, heartbreak, confusion, redemption—we all recognize pieces of ourselves.

Storytelling restores connection and belonging in a world that too often keeps us apart.

This storytelling workshop blends individual exploration with collective creativity. Through techniques drawn from oral storytelling, memoir writing, and performance tools—including body and voice work, breath awareness, and improvisational theater games—participants identify meaningful personal experiences, uncover the very richest parts of the story, and then shape, tell, and ultimately perform it with authenticity and confidence at a story-sharing event.

All are welcome: beginners, seasoned writers, performers, and anyone curious about the transformative power of story.

Sometimes reality is too complex. Stories give it form.
Jean-Luc Godard

Family Week

There is something for everyone at Family Week.

  • Workshops for the grownups that teach skills or help you relax or give you a renewed sense of purpose. The schedule is more flexible than at other times so that the most important people in the world—parents—can get a well-deserved rest.
  • And for the kids there are camps that engage their body, mind, and spirit, get them outside on our beautiful campus, help them make friends, and instill the values of cooperation, compassion, and joyful living.

Adult Workshops meet each morning from 9:30 a.m.–Noon, and Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday from 2:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m. On Thursday afternoon from 2:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m., take time off to relax or enjoy a Dabblers Delights—classes in music, dance, wellness, yoga, and more, led by workshop teachers and special guests.

Kids Camps meet every morning from 9:00 a.m.–Noon, and every afternoon from 2:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m.

In the evenings, everyone gathers for family entertainment.

Please note: If you don't have children you may participate in this program, but be advised almost 200 children are on campus, and services and schedules are geared for children and families.
