Throughout our lives, many women struggle with disordered eating, compulsive exercising, and body dysmorphia. Our negative body image distorts everything from our thoughts and beliefs to our ethics, goals, and ways we relate to others. Join Erica Mather and discover how yoga provides the keys to learning how we can embody, trust, befriend, and ally with the body.
As we engage in lecture, group discussions, yoga practice, and journal-writing exercises, we focus on four metrics that are common sources of judgement: how the body looks, what the body can do, how the body feels, and just being or existing. We examine damaging ideas that are often ingrained in us during childhood, and learn to nurture happiness and enhance our positive thoughts. We discover new mindsets and behaviors to help improve our relationship with our body and show up more authentically in the world.
No previous yoga experience is necessary.
