Aries (March 21-April 19)

Planting a seed is one small step in the gardening process. It’s often not until much later you see a bloom or can harvest what you’ve planted. It works the same way with intentions. This month, tend to those seedling ideas. Think of yourself as an attentive farmer. Your creative energy is at a high point, if not at a peak.

The new moon on May 4 focuses your attention on finances, and you could hear of an investment opportunity. After May 15, Venus moves into Taurus, giving you the urge to make a big purchase, like investing in artwork or furnishings for your home. If you have more optimism around finances, stay in that positive flow. You could gain clarity about a financial matter at the time of the full moon on May 18 and then take action on what you find later in the month.

On May 15, your ruling planet, Mars, moves into your sector of home and family, motivating you to make updates to your house. If you find yourself caught in the middle of familial conflict, do your best to mediate the situation before it escalates. Speak to your loved ones with compassion, and identify the significance of your emotional triggers with family members.

Venus is in your sign until May 15, and you could feel more confident, which will help attract new friends or lovers into your life. That said, you may have an independent streak early in the month. Embrace it, and carve out some you time.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Last month, you were busy planting seeds, literally or metaphorically. This month, you will start to see some blooms. Keeping with the planting metaphor, let this be a month to deepen your roots, staying committed to what you have started.

Your sign steals the astrological show, with the sun, Mercury, Venus, and Uranus all transiting through at different times throughout the month. That means it’s time to take practical steps forward in your life, staying grounded and focused on your desired objectives. You have manifestation power.

The new moon on May 4 motivates you, which will be helpful if you have wanted to learn a new skill, train for a competition, or make a change in your life. When Mars enters Cancer on May 15, it helps you access the power of your words. Speak up if something is bothering you, and do not be afraid to express yourself. Mars helps with marketing yourself and your ideas, too.

The full moon on May 18 highlights your romantic side, and you could feel a deeper desire to be in partnership. If that thought stirs waves of emotions, like disappointment, hurt, or frustration, then you have a clue about what you might want to shift before entering into a new relationship. Venus enters your sign on May 15, helping you be open to receiving love. You could realize you don’t have to be so self-reliant, and with that, start trusting enough to let down your guard. This message applies whether you are single or involved.

Gemini (May 20-June 20)

During this busy time of year, you want to do it all, especially with Mars in your sign until May 15. With so many activities, though, you could miss details or become distracted. That wouldn’t please your inner critic. So, be discerning about how you direct your energy, even if that means saying no to others or rescheduling plans.

You have greater access to your courage; use it wisely. For example, have that awkward conversation you’ve been avoiding. If you face frustrations with others or yourself, take deep breaths and restore inner balance. Frustration can be a motivating force if it inspires you to make changes in your life.

As Jupiter moves retrograde, you may rethink a business partnership or revisit an opportunity you thought you’d missed. You could also finalize a contract with an agent, attorney, or representative.

The new moon on May 4 asks you to attend to your physical and emotional wellbeing. Are you ignoring any symptoms of stress? If you ignore a physical issue, it could become worse. After May 21, the sun shines in your sign, helping boost your energy and vitality, as well as your confidence.

Your love life fluctuates. It starts on a high note, and you could feel open to experiencing love in new ways. Because of this, you could meet someone around May 14. After May 18, things shift, and you could be more independent and self-directed. Your challenge will be to stay available for love while maintaining your sense of self.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

The survival of a plant depends on the health of both its above-ground and underground parts. The roots matter. In the most creative phases of life, you may not feel as recognized. When you’re developing a new concept, you often have foundational work before you let others know. This month, you are somewhere in between. At the beginning of the month, work on your root system. Access support from others, practice self-care and deepen your commitments. Then, after May 15, share with others, allowing them to see your brilliance.

This could be a full month, especially after Venus enters Taurus on May 15 and spotlights your social life. Hibernation time is over, and you could decide to host a party or gathering around the time of the full moon on May 18. Likewise, you might receive an invitation to participate in a charity function or serve in a leadership position. Your social life is in transition, and new people begin to enter your life, personally and professionally.

The end of the month could be pleasant for your relationships, with Venus entering stable Taurus and Mars entering your sign. If you have had challenging relationship dynamics over the past year, you can now experience a reprieve. You could have a real breakthrough in your love life around May 31. Mars in your sign at the end of the month helps you access courage and face conflict head-on to reach a resolution. This influence will help you reconcile any ongoing relationship dynamics that haven’t worked for you.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

This year started on a high note, and you keep gaining momentum. This month, you have the power to take your dreams to a whole new level. You could even rise to leadership. If you have been hard at work building a business or achieving a goal, your efforts will pay off, especially after May 15 when Venus shines in your sector of public recognition, earning you the popular vote.

If you chose to take the high road in a sticky situation, now, you will be pleased you did. Jupiter, the planet of truth, is moving retrograde, helping what has been hidden to come into the light. You could have the chance to tell your side of a story, and others will hear your perspective.

Though your career and social life may be your primary focus this month, the full moon on May 18 draws your attention home, where family matters are a top priority. Be present with your loved ones, especially the ones going through challenging times. Friends invite you to gatherings at the end of the month, especially on May 21, and you could form new and lasting connections.

Your love life may see changes early in the month. With an independent streak, a compromise could seem like a defeat. By May 15, this shifts slightly, as Venus and Mars, our relationship planets, move into more partnership-oriented signs. Romance meets stability at the end of the month, and those of you who are single could welcome a new beginning.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

How does the view look from the peak of the mountain? You have achieved specific goals and, now with some altitude, you can see a clearer vision of the future. Maintain the momentum. Whether you are launching a business, working on completing a project, marketing yourself in a new way, or doing home renovations, have faith in your vision and keep going.

With Mars in your career sector until May 15, you might receive credit for your hard work. This influence also drives you to win. You might consider entering a competition, applying for a grant, or launching a PR campaign. On May 21, the sun and Mercury team up in Gemini, and you could notice positive results from any promotional efforts. Because you can attract attention, do your best in all things, and act as if others are watching.

On May 4, the new moon awakens your sense of faith. Embrace possibility, and maintain that positive spirit. When you fully trust yourself, you won't need external validation or even a sounding board. When body, mind, and soul, are integrated, you act in integrity because to do otherwise would cause suffering. Then, you can have faith in yourself and and open yourself to others with less fear.

On May 15, Mars and Venus move into more stable signs, Cancer and Taurus, respectively. At this time, you may feel more settled in all areas in your life, including your relationships. Your challenge this month will be to stand still without growing complacent.

Libra (September 22-October 22)

Take a deep breath and still yourself. Life seems to be moving at a fast pace, and the velocity may have shaken your equilibrium. It can be challenging to hear the voice of your inner wisdom through the rush of static and noise from the outside. The busyness will shift at the end of the month. Until then, find grounding in life’s simple pleasures, like dinner with loved ones, fresh flowers, or a walk in the park, especially with the new moon on May 4.

Finances are a priority at the beginning of the month, especially if you are securing financing. After May 6, you will finalize the process. You might take advantage of the full moon on May 18 to talk through financial concerns with your partner. You could also have a better understanding of a challenging situation.

On May 21, Mercury and the sun meet up in Gemini, helping inspire creativity. Keep a journal; you’ll want to take notes. This is a favorable time for expanding your business or pursuing career opportunities. You can access courage and overcome fears of failure. Mars moves into your career sector on May 15 and motivates you to succeed, helping you end the month on a high note.

Your partner may express their feelings, and you could be torn between your heart and head, especially on May 7. You seek closeness and yet uncover hidden commitment or attachment fears. After May 15, this dynamic shifts as Venus enters Taurus and helps balance your Libra scales.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

The scorpion, your sign’s symbol, has a secret. It’s a good guy after all. Its toxic venom, in the right doses and applications, can be medicine. Apply this metaphor to your life. You may have to be the truth-teller, litigator, defender, or prophet. Sometimes, you have to deliver hard messages, and others might feel the sting. What they don’t realize, though, is that you are helping them access and integrate suppressed parts of themselves -- their shadows. This month, you could be more in touch with your power to both sting and to heal. At the same time, watch whether your frustration with another is a projection.

After May 21, you may learn of an investment opportunity. Use your intuition, which is stronger than usual right now. Consult with an advisor if you have questions or concerns. You and your partner may need to have budget discussions at the end of the month, especially around May 31.

An internal breakthrough leads to a fresh start in your love life at the new moon on May 4. You could decide you’ve had enough of a particular dynamic that keeps playing out or, conversely, make the decision to be more emotionally available for love. Venus crosses into your opposite sign on May 15, heightening romantic sensibilities. You could feel a spark for someone you may have overlooked in the past or feel a renewed interest in your partner. If your relationship has been tumultuous or complicated, the full moon on May 18 helps you see things more clearly.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Do you ever wish you could freeze time or press the rewind button on your life? While this may seem impossible to do, realize time is a construct, and you can go back to sacred moments through your memory, visualization, or in meditation. Your ruling planet is retrograde in your sign, helping you look back at your life path and revisit opportunities you thought you might have missed. Pursue the ones that most excite you, without investing energy into anything just good enough. Dream big.

Professionally, you stand at a juncture and have a few choices to make. Complacency is not one of them. At the beginning of the month, you might think you can do it all, but by the end of May, you will realize you need to strike a balance. Self-care is a top priority, especially on May 18 at the time of the full moon.

On May 5, Mars opposes your ruling planet and fires up your defense systems. If you encounter any conflictual situations, ascertain whether or not your triggers are projections of aspects of yourself you wish not to see. Your closest relationships could be the ones that push your buttons. Try to see the others’ perspective, and lead with compassion.

The sun and mercury team up in your relationship sector on May 21 and an honest conversation with your partner could lead to a breakthrough. With Venus in Taurus, you could be thinking about settling down, and in doing so, face any commitment fears.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Like your sign's symbol, the mountain goat, life may seem like a series of peaks and valleys. When you are climbing toward a peak, you feel ambitious and focused. When you’re in between, however, you may grow impatient. If you find yourself in a transition right now, consider taking a break. You won’t lose momentum; by slowing down, you gain access to creative talents. In stillness, you also key into your intuition. So, time away can be productive.

The new moon on May 4 invites you to connect with your children or the childlike part of yourself. You could even initiate a conversation with your partner about either starting a family or finding better ways to address your children's needs.

Your ruling planet, Saturn, moves retrograde until September, giving you the chance to rethink decisions you have made over the past year. If you start to feel stuck or grow impatient, engage in a spiritual practice to ground yourself in the present moment. Meditate to clear mental chatter. Fortunately, you have a more positive outlook this month.

Venus enters Taurus on May 15 and highlights romantic connections. If you are in a relationship, you might enjoy a date night around the full moon on May 18. If you are single and looking for love, you could become enamored with someone. You will have more insight into the viability of a relationship after May 21. Honor and respect yourself in all ways, remaining clear about your boundaries if you happen to fall for someone unavailable.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Home is a state of being as well as a physical space. When you feel rooted, grounded, and safe, you're home. When you feel connected to family and friends, you're home. If you have moved away from your family of origin, you may have had to rethink your definition of home. Maybe you created a community, and now, those friends feel like family. This month, you have a chance to settle down, connect with others, and feel a real sense of belonging. You get to experience home.

News about home and family stirs up mixed emotions, especially around the time of the new moon May 4. You could make a trip to visit a loved one this month. Your house might also be a priority, and you could decide to start a renovation project or make changes to your living space.

Professionally, the beginning of the month offers opportunities for design, marketing, public relations, and sales. If you have been thinking of pursuing a new career path, you might start promoting yourself to raise awareness about your talents. Build community with like-minded individuals for networking and collaboration.

Mars moves through Gemini until May 15, and you could feel more available for romance. Enter into any new relationship with care after May 21. With intensified attraction, you could overlook some potential red flags. If you are in a relationship, take a break with your partner and have fun at the end of the month. You could feel more secure and at ease.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

In your life, you have had visions of the future and premonitions. Perhaps you have had an inner knowing about a person or situation only to watch it come to pass. Rather than fear your gifts, embrace them. Your intuition is a guiding light, and if you follow it, you can experience the highest expression of yourself in any situation.

The new moon on May 4 invites you to stay grounded and focused. Dedicate yourself to whatever projects most need your attention, and you will be able to discern whether or not to move in a different direction. Your long-term professional plan is reaching fruition, but you may have to backtrack a little this month to work out some details.

Mercury enters Taurus on May 6, heightening your communication skills. With this influence, you can clearly articulate your point, and you have a gift for persuasion. Your intellect will function at high-speed, so have a writing journal nearby to record your ideas, brainstorms, or thoughts. This is a favorable month for design, marketing, sales, or networking, especially after Venus enters Taurus on May 15.

After May 15, your love life could shift. Resist the temptation to chase after someone unavailable or uninterested in you. You have other options, maybe ones closer than you realize. Keep your eyes (and heart) open for possibilities. Those of you in relationships may feel more settled and at home with your partner, especially after May 21. By May 31, you could decide to take another step forward together.
