What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness

For 40 years, Omega has maintained a strong commitment to mindfulness practices, presenting a variety of modalities drawn from both spiritual and secular traditions. Beginning with the trailblazing work of Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, the practice of mindfulness meditation has become an increasingly valued part of Omega’s offerings.

About

mind·ful·ness (noun):
The practice of bringing nonjudgmental attention to the present moment.

With so many distractions in the modern world, the simple yet profound practice of mindfulness helps us develop the ability to deepen our moment-to-moment awareness. And scientific research continues to prove that mindfulness practices are good for us, too.

Teachers

With extraordinary teachers including Jon Kabat-Zinn, Jack Kornfield, and Sharon Salzberg our mindfulness programs feature notable voices and reach a broad spectrum of people, from early education teachers and medical professionals to office workers and nature enthusiasts.

Maybe the fear is that we are less than we think we are, when the actuality of it is that we are much, much more.

Workshops & Events

Mindfulness practices are now being applied across a range of fields and institutions—from neuroscience to education, from corporations to prisons, to workplaces and beyond. Because mindfulness practices help to cultivate calmer, more present, and more powerful individuals and societies, these practices have always been a part of Omega’s offerings.
