Join award-winning actor and writer John Cameron Mitchell and explore imagination and authentic expression through storytelling and collaboration.

John Cameron Mitchell invites you to join him as he shares tips on how to get started as a storyteller and writer, and how to sustain it for a lifetime.

In an age of digital distraction and unbridled self-branding, award-winning actor and writer John Cameron Mitchell invites you to rediscover the heart of creative storytelling. Explore how to move beyond autobiography and reconnect with imagination, play, and authentic voice.

Through writing exercises, improv games, and the Surrealist "exquisite corpse" collaboration, John guides you to unlock unexpected inspiration and collective creativity, and write from intuition rather than expectation.

Together, we witness his creative process firsthand—from raw drafts to refined scripts—offering insights into how story, character, and emotion intertwine. We learn techniques to bring our own stories to life, as he shares films and exercises to show how different mediums can support the story only you can tell.

This immersive workshop offers a transformative toolkit for lifelong storytelling rooted in authentic expression and creative joy. All levels of storytellers, beginning or experienced, are welcome.
