Barb Schmidt is a best-selling author, meditation teacher, and speaker with more than 40 years of experience in mindfulness and mental well-being. She is dedicated to helping individuals cultivate lasting inner peace.

In 2011, she cofounded Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life® with her daughter, Michelle Maros, to provide accessible tools and resources for inner wellness, stress management, and resilience. The platform impacts nearly 60 million people globally.

She has led transformative workshops and seminars at institutions such as Florida Atlantic University, Nova Southeastern University, and Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Her work also extends to the “Health First” initiative at Florida Atlantic University Medical School, where she equips medical students with mindfulness techniques for personal well-being. Barb and Michelle cohost Life Happens with Barb and Michelle, a weekly podcast where they explore life’s toughest topics through real experiences, offering tools and techniques for emotional health, stress management, and overcoming life’s challenges.

Barb is the author of The Practice: Simple Tools for Managing Stress, Finding Inner Peace, and Uncovering Happiness. She holds honorary doctorates from American College Dublin and from Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters.
