Lesser is a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide. She gave a talk at the first TED Women conference in 2011, Take "the Other" to Lunch, and spoke again on the TED Women stage in 2016, Say Your Truths and Seek Them in Others. She helped produce Oprah Winfrey's 10-week webinar for Eckhart Tolle’s book, A New Earth, appeared several times on the Oprah Winfrey Show and Super Soul Sunday, and was a guest host on the Oprah Radio channel on Sirius/XM.

A student of the Sufi master Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan since 1971, Elizabeth Lesser has also studied with spiritual teachers and religious scholars from other traditions, as well as psychological practitioners and healers. Lesser attended Barnard College and San Francisco State University. Previous to her work at Omega, she was a midwife and birth educator. She has been active in environmental issues for many years in New York State’s Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains, where she lives with her family.

Elizabeth Lesser talks about the inspiration for her book Marrow: A Love Story.

Marrow: A Love Story
A mesmerizing and courageous memoir by Elizabeth Lesser, Marrow is the story of two sisters uncovering the depth of their love through the life-and-death experience of a bone marrow transplant.
