This course introduces the creative practices behind Typewriters Anonymous, where vintage typewriters become tools for presence, expression, and collaborative imagination.
Through guided sessions, we explore analog writing as a practice of attention, joy, and courage. We learn fundamental techniques for analog writing, including working with typewriter mechanics, developing prompts, and using imperfections as creative openings. We spend time writing, reflecting, and sharing work aloud, discovering how the rhythm of keys and the absence of a delete button invites honesty, curiosity, and tenderness.
Together we experiment with collective writing activities that spark connection and build a sense of community. We discuss ways to slow down, reset our nervous systems, and let typewriter poetry emerge one keystroke at a time.
Create pieces typed on classic machines. Discover a renewed relationship to your creative voice. Learn practical approaches for continuing an analog writing practice at home. No experience is required.
